recently entered into a strategic partnership with CoverMyMeds, which will aid patients to obtain prescriptions faster with the help of Allscripts eAuth software. Under the terms of the newly inked deal, the number of health plans accessible to Allscripts eAuth software clients will increase.
Allscripts eAuth, an electronic prior authorization (“ePA”) solution, transacts an electronic prior authorization for patients, substituting the expensive, time-consuming and labor-intensive process of manual prior authorization. The digital approach helps effectively reduce the necessity for follow-up phone calls, faxes and other manual procedures related to retrospective pre-authorization.
This is a noteworthy development for Allscripts, considering the fact that CoverMyMeds is one of the major ePA platforms in the U.S. and influences nearly 72% prescriptions issued in the country.
We feel that the partnership will help Allscripts eAuth software gain higher market traction, which, in turn, will generate better sales.
Partnerships and new contracts have been a core area of focus for Allscripts, when it comes to expanding the reach of its solutions.
We note that the company has been reporting regular contract wins and addition of new domestic and international clients. Notably, in 2014, Allscripts added nearly 800 new clients for its electronic health record (“EHR”) and related solutions in total.
Earlier this month, Allscripts expanded its partnership with OptimizeRx (OPRX –Snapshot Report) to mechanize voucher and copay savings support within the former’s Touchworks EHR platform.
