FHIR “Interactionable” Interoperability: The Next Frontier for Healthcare Advancement, which will describe the mounting pressures on the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) and healthcare IT vendors to deliver interoperability, define the concept of interactionable, and define and demonstrate the concept of “Open Platforms” as a way to implement interactionable interoperability. As the healthcare industry advances IT efforts, a new type of interactionable interoperability has evolved. SMART on FHIR apps are pushing the boundaries of interoperability and expanding the capabilities in the healthcare industry.
