gMed, a Modernizing Medicine company, announced its annual user conference, the gMed Summit, a unique opportunity for gastroenterology health IT customers to learn more about the latest industry trends, top compliance issues, new offerings, gMed’s product roadmap for 2017 and more. Dr. Abraham Verghese, national bestselling author of “Cutting for Stone” and a prominent voice in medicine, will provide the keynote for the event, being held from November 18–20, 2016, at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando in Orlando, Fla.
“The gMed Summit is the perfect platform for gastroenterology leaders to gather as one and address the latest issues facing their industry”
“Where there is collaboration, there is innovation,” said Julie C. Servoss, MD, MPH, Medical Director of Gastroenterology. “The gMed Summit promotes this ideology by providing a platform for gastroenterologists and their staff to network with leaders and industry influencers. Through interactive workshops, activities and sessions, attendees will converge to tackle some of the industry’s most important and challenging topics. We’re excited to learn from our peers, as well as share our own insight, on the future of this unique specialty.”
The gMed Summit is a three-day event that will feature pre-conference training workshops, educational activities, networking opportunities and speaker sessions for private practice, ambulatory surgery center (ASC) and hospital users. The pre-conference workshops are designed to help improve customer skills and workflow for gGastro™, the gastroenterology-specific electronic health record (EHR) system named Top Ambulatory EHR for gastroenterology by Black Book Rankings’ in 2016 and for six consecutive years. Roundtable discussions will help users share knowledge to improve their daily routines. The main conference will feature a mix of educational activities with topics such as compliance, industry updates, new offerings and more, plus lively entertainment, including the popular band, Inner Circle, famous for their song “Bad Boys.”
In addition, users will have the opportunity to see gKiosk™, a new platform built to speed up the check-in process by letting patients update their personal information and medical history and sign consent forms on an iPad. gKiosk integrates with gGastro and gPM™ to add data to the patient’s record automatically.
“The gMed Summit is the perfect platform for gastroenterology leaders to gather as one and address the latest issues facing their industry,” said Daniel Cane, co-founder and CEO, Modernizing Medicine. “Providing gastroenterologists with clear insights and best practices to support their efforts is Modernizing Medicine’s top priority. The gMed Summit will do just this, and it will also demonstrate Modernizing Medicine’s commitment to help gastroenterologists –whether in private practice, ASCs or hospitals – navigate the increasingly complex and compliance laden landscape of modern healthcare.”
