Health New Zealand Chooses dRofus to Standardize and Expand Nationwide Healthcare Facility Planning
Health New Zealand (Te Whatu Ora) has entered a long-term national agreement to deploy dRofus across its healthcare infrastructure projects. This strategic initiative represents a significant move toward standardizing facility planning and data management nationwide, supporting New Zealand’s broader aim of providing high-quality, future-ready healthcare environments.
Munich / Oslo / Wellington / Sydney, October 27, 2025 – Health New Zealand (Te Whatu Ora) has entered a long-term national agreement to roll out dRofus, Nemetschek’s premier planning and data management solution, across its healthcare infrastructure projects. This strategic initiative represents a key step in standardizing facility planning and data management nationwide, advancing New Zealand’s mission to deliver high-quality, future-ready healthcare environments.
Under this agreement, Health New Zealand will utilize dRofus to implement national healthcare facility standards, standardize project delivery methods, improve budgeting and procurement for major medical equipment and FF&E, and support their Asset Management Information System (AMIS) program, aligned with the National Data Standard currently in development.
dRofus is a specialized software solution designed for planning and managing data in building projects. It provides a central database for all stakeholders – including planners, designers, contractors, and owners – to manage requirements, equipment, room data, and BIM models. The platform is especially effective for complex projects in sectors such as healthcare, transportation, and education, where data consistency, collaboration, and change management are essential.
“Health New Zealand is laying the groundwork for long-term excellence in healthcare infrastructure,” said Sunil Pandita, Chief Division Officer, Planning & Design and Digital Twin Business Unit at the Nemetschek Group. “This national agreement underscores their commitment to innovation and standardization, and we are proud that dRofus will play a central role in achieving their objectives.”
“This is a significant milestone for Health New Zealand,” said Margo Kyle, GM National Health Facility Planning. “Our aim is to deliver consistent, high-quality healthcare environments nationwide. dRofus provides the comprehensive data and planning tools we need to realize this vision, from early planning through construction and beyond.”
Initially, the agreement will focus on two major projects, with plans for phased expansion. The long-term goal is for all healthcare facility projects across New Zealand to adopt dRofus as part of an integrated digital planning and asset management ecosystem.
“Partnering with Health New Zealand is a strong endorsement of dRofus’ capabilities and versatility,” said Chris Razzell, Managing Director of dRofus. “We are excited to support their ambitious objectives and help establish best-in-class data management and project delivery standards that will benefit all stakeholders within New Zealand’s healthcare system.”
This agreement underscores the Nemetschek Group’s ongoing commitment to advancing digital solutions in the AEC/O industry and highlights dRofus’ key role in driving large-scale digital transformation.
