Finland: VitalHub Acquires Care Coordination Platform Buddy Healthcare

Canada-based healthcare software provider VitalHub has acquired Finland’s Buddy Healthcare, a digital care coordination platform, in a deal valued at €8.6 million (US$9.8 million), with additional performance-based earnout payments of up to €4.5 million.

The transaction includes an €8.3 million cash payment, subject to working capital adjustments, along with the issuance of 75,000 VitalHub common shares. The earnout payments will depend on Buddy Healthcare achieving specific performance targets during the first two years following the acquisition.

Buddy Healthcare is a valuable strategic addition to VitalHub’s platform,” said Dan Matlow, CEO of VitalHub.

Founded in 2016, Buddy Healthcare helps healthcare providers streamline specialized care pathways through digital solutions that reduce reliance on paper-based processes, phone calls, and unnecessary hospital visits. The platform is widely used across Europe and supports improved patient engagement and resource management.

VitalHub said the acquisition strengthens its presence in the Nordic healthcare market and enhances its patient flow portfolio by adding digital care coordination capabilities. The company also plans to leverage its established customer base and commercial network in the UK to support Buddy Healthcare’s future growth.

“VitalHub is the right long-term partner for our business,” said Jussi Määttä, CEO of Buddy Healthcare. “Together, we can expand our reach in existing markets and bring Buddy Healthcare’s platform to a wider global audience.”

As of June 30, 2026, Buddy Healthcare reported approximately €2.8 million in annual recurring revenue and was operating near adjusted EBITDA breakeven.
