Huron Consulting Group continued its acquisition spree by announcing intentions to purchase rival consulting firm Healthcare Services Management.
More than 100 HSM consultants will join Huron with HSM CEO David Devine coming on as a managing director, the companies said.
Adding HSM’s expertise in healthcare IT and management will boost Huron’s ability to help healthcare providers implement and optimize technologies, improve care quality, reduce cost and better manage patient populations, Huron officials said.
HSM supports information system implementations and conversions, clinical and revenue cycle optimization, informatics strategy, application delivery and interim management and brings a concentration in Cerner, Meditech, Allscripts, NextGen and other prevalent systems, Huron CEO James Roth said in a statement.
Together, Huron and HSM expect to cover the full range of EHR solutions.
Huron has made several acquisitions in the year, including ADI Strategies, Cloud62, MyRounding, Sky Analytics, and the Studer Group to build out the services it offers to healthcare entities.
Financial details of the HSM deal were not disclosed. The deal is expected to close in August 2016.
