NeoGenomics Integrates Cancer Testing with Epic EHR

The integration enables physicians to order oncology tests and access results directly within their existing clinical workflows.

NeoGenomics announced that its oncology testing portfolio is now available through Epic Aura, giving oncologists and health systems across the U.S. access through their existing electronic health record workflows.

Through this integration, physicians can order a comprehensive range of oncology tests, including those for solid tumors and hematologic malignancies, and review results within the same system used for patient care. According to the company, this streamlined workflow can reduce adoption barriers for hospitals, improve scalability, and potentially increase test utilization at each site.

As Tony Zook noted, integrating diagnostics into familiar clinical systems helps clinicians access the right tests faster, supports earlier therapy decisions, and enables health systems to scale precision oncology more efficiently.

The integration also advances NeoGenomics digital health strategy by strengthening connectivity between community oncology practices and larger health systems. It is designed to support advanced diagnostic services, including liquid biopsy and molecular residual disease testing.

Overall, the integration aims to shorten time to treatment by embedding diagnostic tools directly into everyday clinical workflows.
