ComChart EMR
ComChart, electronic medical record (EMR) program is award-winning, easy to use and mimic the traditional paper medical record. As a small EMR company, run by a physician programmer, ComChart Medical Software has maintained a focus on two principal objectives: We have endeavored to create an EMR which optimizes the use of technology with the purpose of assisting physicians in their quest to practice high quality medicine using afford technology. We also recognize that the practice of medicine is difficult. To be successful, physicians need to be able to access technical support for their EMR when they need the assistance. Not a week later, not a day later, but at the moment of need. We have kept these 2 objectives in mind and we believe that we can objectively demonstrate that we have achieved these goals. This can be seen by our rating on the “KLAS” website ratings of ComChart EMR (available on request) and on our awards page.
Because we are a small EMR company, and we are in regular contact with our users, we are able to rapidly implement features requested by our users. Few EMR companies can do this. Just as importantly, we have remain focused on only adding those features which a practicing physician would actually need. We have a studiously avoided adding “fluff,” simply because it can be done or because it can be added to the “feature list.” Our purpose was and is to create an electronic medical record program which would help physicians practice the highest quality medicine, efficiently. That is the mantra we recite to ourselves on a daily basis.
ComChart began development in 1991. As such, it is one of the oldest and longest surviving electronic medical record programs on the market. We have outlasted many large EMR companies. In fact, in 1996, as one of the very few electronic medical record programs available, it was featured on the website of the American College of Physician (until about 2005) and mentioned in many of the early academic writings about EMRs.
Typically, the large EMR companies tell physicians “Do not buy an EMR from a small company because the company will fail and then what will you do.” As demonstrated above, we have not failed. And, from an historical perspective, the large EMR companies typically have a business plan which includes an “end game” in which the creator/owner of the EMR hopes to (ultimately) sell their EMR to another EMR company. In the EMR industry, this has happened repeatedly.
Because we are a small EMR company, ComChart EMR can guarantee the viability of it’s EMR in a way the large EMRs companies can not. ComChart Medical Software promises that if we can no longer provide you with technical support for ComChart EMR, then we will give you the master password to ComChart EMR. Because ComChart is written in Filemaker Pro, and there are many software companies who write Filemaker Pro programs, you will then be able to hire a consultant who will be able to modify ComChart EMR as you need. No other EMR company can provide you with a guarantee of longevity which will better ensure the longterm viability of your EMR.
