Connexin Software
Connexin Software provides Pediatric EMR – Electronic Medical Record software for the Pediatric Specialty. Visual Data, LLC owner Fred Pytlak develops Pediatric Datascope, the predecessor of OP, with the help of his pediatrician wife, Dr. Edna Pytlak. This NYC based company first focused on encounter notes, prescription chronologies, growth curves, vaccine tracking, and school/camp forms – features that are as popular today as they were in 1992.
Word spreads quickly throughout the New York pediatric community that a new, state-of-the-art technology is available to pediatric practices and providers. Tribeca Pediatrics, Total Family Care, Park Slope Pediatrics and Downstate Hospital are some of the first groups to entrust OP with their patient care.
Dr. Susan Kressly (current OP Medical Director) decides to leave a large medical group to open her own independent pediatric practice. While researching EHR vendors, she discovers an alternative to paper charts. Sue and her husband Greg Anderson (former Anderson Financial System (AFS) owner and current OP CEO) were so impressed with this technology that they decided to explore a partnership with Visual Data. AFS merges with Visual Data to form Connexin Software, Inc., the present home of Office Practicum (OP).
Bluff Point Associates makes a significant investment in OP which allows the company to scale and accelerate current growth rate. This funding helps develop several new roles and pediatric features that propels OP into the future, enhancing the overall end-user experience and patient care.
OP has always had the same mission since our software was first developed, and that is to connect the community of pediatricians with their patients to foster best practices and healthier lives. Our company has grown and evolved over the years based on one guiding principle; to provide our customers with the BEST pediatric resources, people and technology so they can deliver the best care to their patient population.
