4 Tips for a Glowing Face and Skin Protection This Summer

4 Tips for a Glowing Face and Skin Protection This Summer

The summer months are sweltering in most places and this inspires people to expose more skin than they would in other seasons. Your skin is the largest organ of your body, so it makes sense you must think about how to protect and improve it. You should work with both the inside and outside of your body to see all-around skin results. These four tips for a glowing face and overall skin protection will keep you looking and feeling good this summer.

Protect Your Face and Skin to Prevent Damage

The skin provides vital support for immunity and internal organ coverage. It also shields major bodily systems from germs, viruses and bacteria. But first, it creates the first impression people make about you. Of course you want to maintain a beautiful appearance. It’s wonderful to accomplish that while you also protect and improve your health.

  1. Wear Sunscreen

Human beings have lived by the sun since beginning civilizations. So when its rays show up, you are perfectly normal to want to head out into them. The sun gives solar power, sets sleep and waking times, and helps humans manufacture Vitamin D. Vitamin D is critical for skin, heart and bone strength. However, the sun’s ultraviolet rays also penetrate skin and can cause premature signs of aging as well as skin cancer.

You must wear a basic sunscreen for daily activities outside and a waterproof sunscreen for outdoor pool, bath or spa activities. Recently, people have had concerns about the safety of such common active ingredients in sunscreen as oxybenzone and iron oxide. However, research shows the threat of skin cancer from the sun far outweighs the risks of chemicals you will absorb into your body from using sunscreen.

  1. Invest in Stylish Coverings

You can add to sunscreen’s power to protect you from powerful UV rays with pretty simple and basic coverings. The best part is you’ll look pretty stylish while you do so. Hats, sunglasses and scarves all block skin damage from the sun. Get creative with colors, fabrics and shapes to stand out in the crowds. All the compliments to your looks will be a bonus to knowing you’re at the top of your skin protection game this summer.

  1. Start Blocking Out Screen Lights

You probably spend a lot of hours in front of screens given tech conveniences, work obligations and browsing indulgences. Spreadsheets, apps and social media are not hazardous to your health all by themselves. However, the blue lights from devices may cause problems.

In addition to the sun’s ultraviolet light, you must consider Artificial Visible Light (AVL) and High Energy Visible Light (HEVL). These are smaller, albeit similar, sources of damaging light radiation onto your skin. They arise from the same qualities that make the sky blue, albeit in far less quantities.

You can take measures to minimize this light and the fine wrinkles or other problems it could bring about. Switch to night mode on your phones, devices and screens to dim light emissions. If you work from home often on a computer screen, consider a handy screen cover to keep the rays down.

  1. Go Basic with Water and Essential Oils

Water hydrates your body from the inside out and helps you release toxins that dull your skin. If coffee and protein drinks join your favorite happy hour cocktail as your primary beverages, use these habit-forming ideas to get more water in:

  • Make water the first drink you have in the morning and your last at night.
  • Drink water as you check your door alarms, morning alarms and locks before you settle into sleep.
  • Add citrus fruits such as lemons and oranges as well as berries to flavor your water naturally so you don’t get bored with this most healthful habit.

Combine water with essential oils to treat clogged pores and pimples when hot summer weather takes a toll. Antiviral and antimicrobial essential oils from eucalyptus, sage and tea tree give your face plant-based solutions to common issues and imperfections. These four tips are your start to positive, all-natural safety for your skin this summer. You will definitely glow if you adopt all four, but just one or two of these changes will make a difference in how you look and feel
