4 Treatments That Every Reputed Las Vegas Orthodontist Offers

As per the recent census, about 28 percent of the Las Vegas population comprises children and teenagers above the age of 19. The number of children with dental issues in Las Vegas is almost 15% higher than the national average. Misalignment of teeth and jaw muscles are common oral health issues that need immediate attention.

The world of orthodontics offers many benefits to straightening misaligned teeth issues. Not only can such treatments improve a person’s physical appearance, but they can also help a person develop a sense of self-confidence.

In America, there are several orthodontists that people can go to for straightening the teeth and correcting the irregularities in their mouth. Even though plenty of options are available to you, not all Las Vegas orthodontics specialists will provide the same services. Here is a list of five popular treatments that you will find at a reputable orthodontist office:

Invisalign Treatment

Invisalign is a relatively new orthodontic dental treatment that has been increasingly popular over the years. This type of orthodontics works by creating a customized series of clear plastic trays that a person must wear over the teeth. These dental trays are made from an impression of the teeth and adjusted accordingly to align them properly.

Invisalign is more reliable than braces since there is less friction on the teeth, preventing enamel damage. Invisalign works by positioning your teeth gradually until they have finally reached their permanent position.

Clear Braces

As the name suggests, this type of mainstream orthodontics aims to straighten teeth using a series of clear braces that fit onto the teeth. Unlike traditional braces, these will not be visible if you smile or laugh.

This is especially beneficial for teenagers who need the treatment but cannot afford to have a mouthful of metal braces. For clear braces to work effectively, they must be custom-made from an impression of your teeth.

Because there are no metallic components here, the orthodontist can sculpt them out of transparent materials that allow light to pass through without obstructing your view.

Teeth Whitening

If you are one of these people who have stained teeth, it might be time to consider teeth whitening. This treatment is quite simple since it cleans off any external stains built upon the dental surface over the years.

These stains occur by drinking coffee, tea, or cigarette smoke.

With teeth whitening, you will be given a bleaching solution in the form of a tray that will go over your teeth and stay there for roughly half an hour. Experts usually repeat this procedure two times and, in some cases, three to get the best results.

Orthognathic Surgery

This is a particular type of surgery that corrects the jaw and the associated problem with the lower teeth. If your jaw is not aligned correctly, your lower teeth can stick outwards, and you cannot bite down properly when eating food.

Orthognathic surgery is a corrective procedure that aims to reposition the jaw and teeth for you to be able to bite down with ease.

This is a rather complicated treatment since it requires a lot of knowledge, precision, and patience from the orthodontist who has been treating you. Surgical procedures are necessary in some cases, and the only way to know whether you will need this is after an x-ray.

Wrapping Up

On average, most Las Vegas orthodontics experts advise that you visit them once every six months to keep track of your teeth and ensure that everything is fine. The above-mentioned treatments are some of the most common treatments that you can expect to get from an orthodontics professional in Las Vegas.
