5 Ways To Help Your Body in 2022

Although many people strive to live a healthier lifestyle, it can be difficult to find where to start. Here are five ways that you can help your body and improve your physical health.

  1. Exercise

You’ve heard it many times before, and for good reason: exercising is one of the most effective ways to keep your body healthy. Your brain releases endorphins when you exercise, which are feel-good chemicals that have been shown to improve sleep quality, enhance the immune response and modulate appetite. 

Keep in mind that a more intense workout doesn’t always equate to greater health benefits. Therefore, you shouldn’t push yourself too hard at first if you’re not ready. Lower-intensity workouts such as a brisk walk or yoga can still provide you with many advantages. Try aiming for 30 minutes of exercise a day, and enlist the help of a friend or family member to exercise with you if you’re having trouble motivating yourself. Not only can they make exercising more enjoyable, but they can also hold you accountable for keeping up your daily routine.

  1. Wear Sunscreen

Wearing sunscreen is an absolute must in your daily routine. Not only does sunscreen protect against sunburn, but it can also reduce the signs of aging, reduce the risk of skin cancer and prevent broken blood vessels. Dermatologists recommend using a physical sunscreen, as chemical sunscreen doesn’t absorb as well into the skin if you apply it after moisturizer. However, if you apply moisturizer after chemical sunscreen, your moisturizer won’t be as effective because it can’t penetrate through the sunscreen. 

Be sure that your sunscreen contains zinc and titanium dioxide, which are essential active ingredients that reflect the sun’s UV rays. Red light therapy is another promising technique that acts on the mitochondria to help mend sun damage. Looking up full body red light therapy before and after photos can help you determine if this treatment is right for you.

  1. Eat a Nutritious Diet

Eating healthy is another effective way to live a healthier lifestyle. Be sure to eat a diet full of fruits, vegetables, fiber and whole grains, and stay away from foods high in salt, sugar and saturated fat. It’s important to keep in mind that beverages also play a role in your overall health. Consider switching out drinks filled with sugar, artificial sweeteners and empty calories for healthier options like coconut water or a refreshing smoothie. 

If you want to make sure that you’re getting enough nutrients in your diet, you can also add a supplement to your daily routine. Supplements such as vitamin D, probiotics and omega-3 fatty acids have been scientifically shown to support overall health.

  1. Stay Hydrated

In addition to eating a healthy diet, staying hydrated is also essential for your physical health. Although your water intake depends on your height, weight and amount of physical activity, it’s generally recommended that you consume about 64 ounces of water every day. Be sure not to wait until you’re thirsty to drink, as this usually indicates that you’re entering the beginning stages of dehydration

  1. Use Non-Toxic Cleaning Products

Did you know that many household cleaning products are full of harmful ingredients such as ammonia, antifreeze and formaldehyde? These chemicals have been shown to have a negative effect on the nervous and cardiovascular systems, and they can even upset the brain’s chemical balance.

The good news is that there are plenty of natural alternatives to these products that can get the job done just as effectively. If you’re not sure where to start, the Environmental Working Group database assigns products letter grades based on their toxicity. This can allow you to find the best cleaning product for your needs.

If you’ve set a goal of living a healthier lifestyle but are unsure where to start, try implementing these five tips into your daily routine. You may find that starting with small steps can make improving your physical health an attainable goal.
