6 Reasons Why You Should Straighten Your Teeth

6 Reasons Why You Should Straighten Your Teeth

6 Reasons Why You Should Straighten Your Teeth

It is human nature to take the long queue in the bank just to be served by that lady who got some fine white set of aligned teeth accompanied by a killer smile at your service. If you fall for killer smiles, you know how bonkers that curve on the face can make you go. Now that should make you understand why aligned teeth should be a necessity and not considered a luxury. But if you are not convinced, read on and see why you should consider having your teeth straightened.

1. Enhances Oral Hygiene

If you are keen on your personal hygiene, the thing you do when you wake up in the morning is washing your face before brushing your teeth. Oral health is undoubtedly equally as important as body hygiene. Brushing and flossing keep your teeth “in-betweens” clean. That will free your teeth and your gums from infections, unsightly plaque, and bad breath.

2. Boosts Self Confidence

Let us be honest. Clean, bright, and aligned teeth will make you feel better about yourself. A good set of teeth can make you go smiling at everything and anything not because you are happy, but because you are sure you look attractive in your smile. That is the kind of energy that straightened teeth come with.

Do not seat back with misaligned teeth when you can get braces and get your dental digits back in perfect shape. The good thing is that these days, teeth alignment technology has advanced greatly, and you no longer have to feel uncomfortable in traditional braces. If you are in search of a solution for your teeth misalignment menace, invisible braces could be a perfect choice. From the likes of Invisalign to Candid and Byte, they come in a wide range of brand options to choose from nowadays. These include options that don’t require you to sit on the dread chair at the dentist’s office.

Your smile could be somebody else’s reason to have a good day, and you can only afford one if you are confident showing off your perfectly straight teeth!

3. Reduces Teeth Breakage

Teeth breakage is a common thing even for those people who have straight teeth, but it is worse for the ones with crooked teeth. First of all, overcrowded teeth cause friction as the teeth rub against each other. The consistent crashing of teeth weakens them, which, in the long run, forces them to break or fall out.

That is not the case with straightened teeth because they rarely grind against each other, causing lesser chances of breaking away. However, that does not guarantee your safety when out there playing rough. It would be best if you always protected your orthodontics by putting on a mouth guard at all times.

4. Improved Sleep Patterns

Let us do this practically. Breathe in for a few seconds. Have you felt how easy air gets in? Breathe out. Now stuff your mouth with a clean piece of cloth then breathe in. Can you feel the difference? You will realize that when your mouth is occupied, the airway is narrowed, and after a few breaths, you will have difficulty when breathing.

When the mouth is free from anything, the airways are open, and the air passes freely without any obstruction. That is the same thing that happens when you have overcrowded teeth. Your sleep patterns are likely to have an issue because when you are in a deep sleep, you cannot be in control of your breathing patterns.

6 Reasons Why You Should Straighten Your Teeth

5. Clear Speech

Science is more of a practical class than theory. Can we repeat the same experiment we did while breathing in and out? Or rather let us relate this point to something we have encountered before. We have been victims of bad table manners before and talked with food in the mouth. Were you audible enough? We do not need an answer, we already know.

That is the same thing that happens to people with misaligned teeth. It affects their speech and how they pronounce words. In some cases, you will notice too much saliva in the mouth when talking. If there is a chance for you to fix some of these issues, please do. Let us not drown in low esteem when we can do something about it.

6. Lesser Chances of Heart Disease and Stroke

People with crowded teeth have higher chances of suffering from periodontal gum diseases. It gets worse when the infection-causing bacteria get into the bloodstream. Since the blood circulates throughout the body, and the heart plays a major role, chances are that it could cause damage and eventually lead to heart diseases or stroke.
