9 Great Investments for a Better Night’s Rest

Insomnia and other sleep issues are prevalent, so there’s no wonder why there are so many different types of sleep aids available. Almost everyone would probably say they could use a better night’s sleep. There are some easy ways to help this, most requiring very little monetary investment and all worth a try.

1. Sun Away Portable Blackout Curtain

If you frequently travel, you may have trouble sleeping in some places due to city lights or if you have to sleep during the day. Now, wherever you may be, day or night can be completely blacked out. This curtain is not only portable, but it also tends to work better than typical blackout curtains because it fits securely to the window with suction cups and velcro to close all the light out of your space. Light is essential in your sleep/wake cycle. With blackout curtains, you can use light therapy sources like an infrared led heat lamp to stay in optimal health and keep your circadian rhythm on track.

2. Weighted Blanket

A weighted blanket isn’t simply a blanket. It produces the same physiological calming effects as a hug. If you’re anxious at bedtime, one of these blankets can reduce your stress and send you into a peaceful slumber.

3. Deep Sleep Pillow Spray

Spray your pillow with this natural mixture of lavender, vetiver and camomile to calm your body and mind at bedtime. This form of aromatherapy can help you fall asleep faster, sleep deeper and wake up more refreshed.

4. PureZone 3-in-1 True HEPA Air Purifier

No matter how clean you keep your home, the air can be more polluted than you may realize. Dirty air can make allergies and other issues worse, which can negatively affect sleep. This purifier captures 99.7% of mold spores, dust, pet dander and pollen. It can also kill bacteria and germs while removing household odors. This air purifier even has a setting specifically for sleep.

5. Aku Mat

Acupressure has benefits for all types of health issues, and sleep is one of them. Over 2,700 metal spikes made of copper, silver, zinc, nickel and iron cover the Aku Mat. If you’ve never used this type of mat, it’ll probably be a painful experience at first, but you’ll quickly realize the benefits. As you lay on the mat, your body begins releasing endorphins. These endorphins help create a sense of deep relaxation that can produce a good night’s sleep.

6. Buckwheat Hull Pillow

A buckwheat hull pillow is excellent for anyone, especially people who tend to get hot when sleeping. Unlike memory foam, buckwheat pillows don’t retain heat, so it stays cool all night long. Buckwheat is also hypoallergenic, and these pillows can provide excellent support to your neck, shoulders and spine. After sleeping with one of these pillows, you’re likely to wake up with fewer aches and pains than you’re used to experiencing.

7. TouchPoints for Sleep

These are sweatband-like bands that you can place around your wrists or ankles when you get into bed. Research has shown that micro-vibrations can have a relaxing effect on the body. It can encourage many people to fall into a deep sleep within 15 minutes.

8. Essential Oil Diffuser

An essential oil diffuser uses millions of vibrations to break down water and essential oil. Then, it releases the scent into the air to help soothe your mind and body to help you sleep.

9. OOLER Sleep System

A cooler bedroom temperature is more conducive to good sleep. However, sometimes it’s challenging to keep your environment at the right temperature, especially if you have a sleeping partner who runs at a different temperature. The OOLER system uses water to cool (or even warm) your side of the bed. It’s available in half sizes, queen through California king. You can also purchase a sleep system for two that includes two separate units and controls so you can both stay at your optimal temperature for sleeping.
Everyone needs a certain amount of restful sleep to maintain their health. If you’re having sleep issues, many options can help. Try some of these today for better sleep tonight.
