Accenture Plans to Acquire Lenexa EHR Consulting Practice

HealthMark Introduces MedRelease Software to Help Medical Clinics & Hospitals

Dublin-based Accenture (NYSE: ACN) will acquire Sagacious Consultants, a Lenexa-based electronic health record consulting practice. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition includes about 250 employees, who bring expertise in areas such as data analytics, health care IT, and implementing and optimizing Epic Systems Corp.-related systems. Epic is a Wisconsin-based electronic medical records software giant.

“As the global EHR market continues on a trajectory that will surpass $22 billion this year, there is a critical need for medical IT specialists who can help health care systems maximize the utility and impact of digital health records,” Kaveh Safavi, managing director for Accenture’s global health care business, said in a release. “Sagacious will enhance our capabilities, expertise and ability to drive transformational outcomes for our clients.”

Accenture is a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company that serves providers, payers and public health systems in more than 20 countries. In 2014, it reported net revenue of $30 billion.
