Advarra and IgniteData Partner to Streamline Clinical Trial Data Transfer for Research Sites.

IgniteData’s Archer platform will link research sites’ EHR systems with Advarra’s eSource and EDC solutions, along with sponsors’ preferred EDC systems, ensuring seamless compatibility across multiple vendors.

Columbia, MD and New Castle, DE – Nov. 12, 2025 – Advarra, a leader in regulatory review and clinical research technology, and IgniteData, a pioneer in intelligent clinical trial data automation, have announced a partnership to enable secure, streamlined data transfer between research sites’ EHR systems, Advarra’s eSource and EDC platforms, and sponsor EDC systems. The collaboration aims to support an open, vendor-neutral ecosystem that enhances data quality, reduces administrative workload, and speeds up clinical trial operations.

Research sites frequently deal with manual, repetitive data entry when moving information between EHR, eSource, and EDC systems. A recent publication from top oncology research institutions reported that over half of clinical trial data is duplicated across research and hospital systems, with nearly 20% of study costs spent on duplication and verification—resources that could be better used to accelerate research.

“Sites have long been burdened by disconnected systems that make data sharing slow and error-prone,” said Scott Uebele, Chief Operating Officer at Advarra. “With leading academic medical centers, NCI-Designated Cancer Centers, and hundreds of enterprise sites using Advarra technologies—such as OnCore CTMS, Clinical Conductor CTMS, eReg, eSource, and EDC—we’re committed to delivering innovations that simplify operations. Partnering with IgniteData aligns with that mission, helping build a more connected ecosystem that empowers sites to work smarter. By unifying EHR, eSource, and EDC data flows, we’re removing long-standing barriers that have slowed research for years.”

Zach Taft, CEO of IgniteData, added: “Unlike other connector solutions that lock organizations into proprietary platforms, our partnership with Advarra gives sites the freedom to use the systems they prefer. Even better, these capabilities are available today—no years of development required. We’re enabling trials to be faster and more accurate using the tools sites and sponsors already rely on, allowing teams to focus more on advancing research and improving patient care.”

For commercial sites without an EHR, the integration will allow data entered into Advarra’s eSource to flow directly through Archer into the sponsor’s preferred EDC system. For academic medical centers and cancer centers conducting investigator-initiated trials (IITs), data can move directly from their EHR into Advarra’s EDC via Archer, bringing the same efficiency and high-quality data seen in sponsor-led trials to institution-led studies.

“Academic research advances when systems communicate,” said Denise Snyder, Associate Dean for Clinical Research at Duke University. “Automated, secure data transfer from the EHR to both EDC and eSource will ease staff burden, improve data quality, and accelerate discovery—benefits the entire industry can support.”

Joe Lengfellner, Senior Director of Clinical Research Informatics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, added: “At MSK, we’ve seen the value of connected data systems in improving research quality and efficiency. We’ve used each platform independently and look forward to this collaboration, which will reduce operational strain, enhance data accuracy, and help sites run trials more effectively.”

Development of the integration is currently underway, with early customer participation already in progress.
