Ardent Health Launches Enterprise-Wide Deployment of Ambience Healthcare’s AI Platform

EMR industry

Ardent Health Unveils Enterprise Deployment of Ambience Healthcare’s AI Platform for Clinical Workflows, Documentation, and Coding

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (Sept. 17, 2025) – Ardent Health (NYSE: ARDT), a leading healthcare provider in growing mid-sized U.S. communities, has teamed up with Ambience Healthcare to roll out its AI platform across Ardent’s ambulatory network.

The platform equips Ardent clinicians to produce thorough, compliant documentation, reduce burnout, and deliver higher-quality care. This enterprise rollout builds on a successful pilot covering 17 specialties and seven languages, which achieved a 90% clinician utilization rate.

“Ambience is central to our strategy to reduce clinician burnout while improving patient care,” said FJ Campbell, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Ardent Health. “It allows providers to focus on patients rather than constant EHR data entry, while ensuring every note meets the highest clinical and compliance standards.”

Minimizing Clinician Burnout and Strengthening Compliance

  • Clinician Well-Being & Satisfaction:
    • 70% of pilot clinicians reported reduced cognitive load, allowing greater focus on patient care.
    • 100% of pilot clinicians said Ambience improved their job satisfaction.
  • Clinician Productivity & Efficiency:
    • Documentation time decreased by 45% (Epic UAL data).
    • Each clinician saved approximately 5 hours per week on documentation.
  • Scalability:
    • Pilot providers achieved a 90% overall encounter usage rate.
    • Over 140,000 patient encounters have been documented using Ambience to date.

“This technology is transformative,” said Theresa Horton, MD, a pediatrician at Ardent’s Utica Park Clinic in Tulsa, Oklahoma. “It allows me to enjoy my practice longer and has removed thoughts of early retirement.”

Beyond enhancing the clinician experience, Ambience’s AI platform also benefits administrative teams by improving clinical documentation accuracy and compliance. Unlike other AI scribing tools, which can raise compliance concerns and CDI queries, Ambience provides real-time, audit-ready, coding-aware documentation that boosts accuracy while lowering CDI queries and billing risk.

“With documentation accuracy, coding integrity, and clinician burnout all presenting critical challenges, Ardent is leading the way by deploying AI designed specifically for various care settings and specialties,” said Nikhil Buduma, Co-Founder and Chief Scientist of Ambience Healthcare. “We are proud to partner with Ardent Health to scale this impact across their network of care.”

Setting a New Benchmark in Care
Ardent Health also noted a clear improvement in patient experience. Clinicians using Ambience during the pilot saw significant gains across all eight patient-satisfaction categories in the Press Ganey survey.

“Patient care is at the heart of everything we do,” said Brad Hoyt, MD, Chief Medical Information Officer at Ardent Health. “Ambience allows providers to focus fully on patients, make eye contact, listen attentively, and deliver the highest quality care.”

The enterprise rollout represents a major step in Ardent’s long-term digital transformation, positioning Ambience as a strategic partner across multiple clinical settings.

“Ambience is among today’s leading healthcare innovators,” said Anika Gardenhire, Chief Digital and Transformation Officer at Ardent Health. “We’re thrilled to expand this partnership across our network, supporting nurses, emergency departments, and inpatient units with technology designed for today’s demands.”
