Are There Any Side Effects From Vaping?

Whether you’re opting for vaping as an alternative to cut down your cigarette consumption or you are simply looking you quit completely, putting down the cigarettes and picking up a vape can be a cheaper and healthier alternative to finally help you kick the habit. However, speculation has been rife as to whether there is anything to worry about when it comes to these electronic substitutes. Here, we are going to look at if there are any side effects that you need to be aware of when turning to vaping.

Side Effects

Although vaping is becoming more and more popular, the potential lasting side effects are still relatively unknown. When compared to the likes of traditional cigarettes, there are fewer side effects and far less risk of permanent damage to important organs such as your lungs. However, there are some side effects that can come along with the use of an electronic cigarette in some people. Some of the side effects of vaping include:

  • Chest pains
  • Nausea
  • Increased blood pressure/heart rate

While these are side effects you’ll need to consider, they often resolve themselves over time and may be due to existing conditions. Your body will be adjusting to a new process, though if you have concerns, visit your GP to give you peace of mind.

New Technology

As new technology is developed for vaping, new flavours and liquids are also released. Although these all have a very similar chemical makeup, it is still possible to have negative side effects to one liquid over another due to certain flavourings. This can be reduced by buying liquids from reliable sources, as the ingredients are clearly stated on the side of the bottle, thus ensuring that you know exactly what you are putting into your body. This technology has also been released to allow users to reduce the amount of nicotine that is released within the vapour. Nicotine is the chemical that keeps users addicted to cigarettes and by gently weaning off, quitting can be much simpler without any adverse side effects.

Lack Of Knowledge

Although vaping has been around for a long period of time, there is still plenty that we just don’t know. At this current time, there are elements such as long-term side effects that are unknown however this is something that comes with time. Some side effects are only being identified in recent years though for the most part, due to the simple chemical makeup of the liquid that you are using it is relatively easy to predetermine the side effects that you could experience.

Varied And Limited Side Effects

Although there are side effects of vaping, they can be very few and far between. With regular reports of having a cough and dry throat, there are just as many, if not more, that report having no side effects at all. For this reason, it’s clear that side effects can be completely unique from person to person. Each of the side effects that have been reported are only temporary as your body gets used to the vapour and you are able to use it freely without any problems, helping you to quit smoking all whilst enjoying your chosen flavour.

With this in mind, it is important to do your research before switching to vaping to see which concentrations and handsets will be set suited to you, as this will help you to enjoy your overall experience.
