Are You Drinking Enough Water? Here are 5 Tips on Staying Hyradated

As summer approaches, many people are going to start thinking about water. Whether that’s the ocean, lazy river, or lake, however, this thought of water is often never focused on the consumption of it but simply the playtime around it. Although all these are fun activities that can be enjoyed by the entire family, you should still think about consuming water and the benefits it can provide you. Because dehydration shows itself in many forms, either from low energy to rapid heartbeat, it can be difficult for people to understand how dehydrated they really are. This, of course, can lead to a variety of health issues. Therefore, the following includes five easy to accomplish tips to stay hydrated all year round.

Get Creative

Who says drinking water has to be dull? One of the best ways to convince you to drink more water is by making it a fun and delicious process. You can begin to reach this goal by playing around with different combinations of flavors such as lemon or mint. The great thing about this approach is that you can quickly change combinations the minute certain tastes become boring. Now, let’s talk about other creative ways to consume water. A fun way to keep yourself hydrated is to freeze your flavored water! This will allow you to have a different texture, all while remaining hydrated.

Set Reminders

If you’ve never taken the time to make sure that you are consuming enough water, then setting reminders might be your best bet. You can do this by doing simple things such as setting your good touch alarm panel to go off when its time to go take a drink. Let’s be honest; you might need additional reminders to really get the habit of drinking water going. Go beyond just setting alarms on your phone. Place sticky notes around frequented areas of your home to remind yourself to stay hydrated. Little by little, you won’t need that many reminders, and it’ll eventually become a habit.

Look at Your Pee

Yes, you heard that right, look at your pee from time to time. Looking down at the toilet to see the color of your urine can be a good indicator of how hydrated or dehydrated you are. If the water is super clear, you might be drinking way too much water. However, if a dark color with a strong odor is the result, then you may be dehydrated. Make sure to check this every other day to see where you stand and if you need to make any changes to your lifestyle.

Don’t Let Work Get in The Way

One of the most common reasons why people find themselves being dehydrated is because they spend a large amount of their day at work. Understandably, people tend to be rather busy throughout the day. Going from meeting to meeting can certainly cause you to forget to drink some water. So, how can you mediate this problem? The best way to keep yourself hydrated all day is to purchase yourself a reusable water bottle. Take your bottle of water everywhere you go. Note that it is highly recommended to invest in a high-quality water bottle in order to keep your water safe from outside dust as well as to keep it nice and cold.

Intake Enough Sodium

When it comes to keeping your body properly balanced, there is no better way to accomplish this than by making sure you are intaking an appropriate amount of sodium after your workouts. When one sweats, they are losing fluids, which can lead to dehydration. A recent study showed that the consumption of sodium after a workout helps replenish the lost sodium one loses through sweat. Although this doesn’t particularly deal with the consumption of water, it does play to the importance of following a proper hydration strategy.

When it comes to the importance of staying healthy, keeping yourself hydrated is at the very top. An incredible amount of parts of your body depend on this hydration, from your tissue cells to your internal temperature. The ability of your body to function correctly all stems from being properly hydrated throughout your daily life. Thus, it is paramount that you adhere to the list of tips poste
