Bergen New Bridge Medical Center Announces Implementation of Epic

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center has announced the adoption of Epic, the world’s leading electronic health record (EHR) system. This implementation aims to streamline operations, enhance clinical decision-making, and significantly improve patient experiences across acute care, behavioral health, long-term care, and outpatient services.

“This is more than a technology upgrade—it’s a fundamental shift in how we deliver care,” said Deborah Visconi, President and CEO of Bergen New Bridge Medical Center. “Epic will strengthen continuity of care, promote health equity, and equip both patients and clinicians with tools that make healthcare more personalized, accessible, and human-centered.”

By aligning with top health systems nationwide that use Epic, Bergen New Bridge will enhance its role in regional care delivery through more seamless information sharing for patients receiving care across multiple systems.

“Bergen New Bridge’s vision to leverage technology for community health is inspiring,” said Leela Vaughn, Vice President at Epic. “We are proud to support their efforts by providing an integrated health record that empowers care teams and improves the patient experience across the region.”

Epic’s health system platform has been ranked #1 in the nation by KLAS Research for 15 consecutive years and is used by over 73,000 hospitals and clinics. Additionally, over 90% of U.S. medical students and residents train on Epic during their residencies.

After an 18-month implementation period, Bergen New Bridge plans to go live with Epic in early 2027. Further details about the rollout and timeline will be shared as they become available.
