Today, there’s an app for almost everything. From retail shopping, banking and financial institutions to the healthcare industry, digital transformation has evolved all sectors. With the growing digital trends, companies need robust software testing solutions. Medical experts, patients, and physicians wonder what the future holds for the healthcare industry. Affordability, access, and quality of patient care are important features which can enhance the popularity and profit from healthcare apps. While the future of these apps being uncertain, certain advances have made a jolt in the healthcare industry. There is a rise in healthcare apps that have changed the way patients and physicians interact. 75% of adults in the US own a smartphone and 89% of total mobile media usage in apps, draws to the conclusion that there is some presence that the healthcare industry has managed in the digital arena.

Digitizing the Healthcare Industry

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is doing wonders in various areas, prominently in the healthcare industry. Moving over to improving the diagnosis of health issues, and communication between patients and physicians, AI-powered apps may take things in the right direction. Although patients are likely to be comfortable interacting with human beings for sensitive issues, yet the basic diagnosis of common illnesses will reduce the pressure on healthcare services. And allow doctors to work on more serious ailments. But with the ever-increasing need for healthcare facilities for improving life expectancy, the future of seeing a doctor may just be virtual. Thus, it becomes crucial to find a reliable healthcare app testing company to develop more quality apps.

EASE App for Easy Communication between Doctors and Patient’s Family

To make digital health accessible for all, researchers are introducing new apps like Electronic Access to Surgical Events (EASE). It is a HIPAA- (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliant mobile healthcare app that allows doctors and nurses to communicate with patients families via text, image or video. These messages can be viewed for 60 seconds before disappearing (which was a major feature introduced by Snapchat). It helps to create a more transparent environment between the waiting room and the operating room, while the family is updated with the current status when the patient undergoes surgery.

Apple Announced to Launch EHR Feature to its Apps

Apple has recently announced that it will allow any US healthcare institute with a compatible electronic health record (EHR) to register with its mobile ‘health records’ feature. This feature will allow patients to download their EHR securely on their iPhones. The compatible EHRs can download the records are capable to be plugged with apps based on Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR). FHIR is a framework for exchanging clinical data over the internet.

These innovations, all the more, make healthcare app testing critical to the software development process. More and more healthcare companies are investing in developing healthcare apps to stay up-to-date with the latest trends in the industry, for improved patient care.
