Circle Health Group Enhances Governance and Patient Safety Using Radar Healthcare

The digital transformation covers all 54 hospitals.

Circle Health Group, the UK’s largest private hospital network, has transformed its governance and patient safety practices through a strategic collaboration with Radar Healthcare.

This digital overhaul now extends across all 54 hospitals, allowing for faster reporting, richer insights, and a stronger safety culture throughout the organisation.

The group aimed to replace manual processes with integrated systems, enhancing the quality and accessibility of data for clinical teams both centrally and across its nationwide hospital network.

“Before, we couldn’t analyze data in a meaningful way. Now, we can combine incidents with audits and other governance information to gain a comprehensive view of patient safety across the group,” said Simon Geoghegan, Head of Clinical Data Reporting and Governance Systems at Circle Health Group.

Radar Healthcare’s adaptable platform unifies essential functions—incident reporting, PSIRF workflows, audits, action plans, and real-time analytics—into a single integrated system customized for Circle Health Group’s requirements.

Major achievements include:

  • Incident reporting through PSIRG has surged by 98%, demonstrating higher engagement and more accurate triage. This increase reflects better integration of PSIRG into frontline workflows, leading to faster resolution and more precise categorization of incidents.
  • PSII investigations have decreased by 87%.
  • More than 12 manual processes have been eliminated.
  • Automation has streamlined meeting preparation, allowing quicker and more informed decision-making.
  • Clinician feedback has enhanced frontline participation, fostering a stronger focus on patient safety.

The system’s analytics module has been pivotal for Circle Health Group. Teams now have access to live dashboards and real-time analytics, enabling them to identify trends in incidents and take a more proactive approach to risk management than ever before.

“The analytics in Radar Healthcare are phenomenal,” said Sharon Stewart, Director of Clinical Governance and Quality Improvement at Circle Health Group. “With Radar Healthcare, we can generate real-time insights that shape our reports and directly inform our decision-making.”

Radar Healthcare also fully integrated the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF), allowing teams to respond to incidents more quickly while providing actionable insights to support service and quality improvement initiatives across the organization.

“Radar Healthcare has completely transformed our approach to PSIRF,” said Emma Watson, PSIRF Lead at Circle Health Group. “We can compare investigations in real time, identify patterns, and implement changes immediately. It’s real-time learning at its finest.”

The platform fosters a positive and safe culture by recognizing best practices alongside learning from incidents, enabling staff at all levels to actively participate in governance.

“Radar Healthcare’s user-friendly design reinforces our open and transparent culture,” said Sharon Stewart, Director of Clinical Governance and Quality Improvement at Circle Health Group. “The more we engage with it, the more benefits we discover.”
