Crowder named CIO at Scripps Health

crowder

Andy Crowder has been appointed CIO and corporate senior VP at San Diego-based Scripps Health.

He starts Jan. 18 and replaces Patric Thomas, who will retire on Feb. 20.

A 30-year veteran of healthcare information technology, Crowder, 49, most recently served as senior VP and CIO at MaineHealth in Portland, Maine, where he led the implementation of an Epic Systems Corp. electronic health record. He has also held CIO roles at Florida Hospital in Orlando and Adventist Health System in Illinois.

Crowder comes to Scripps as it works with Epic on the design of its own integrated enterprise EHR, which will replace the system’s current ambulatory and inpatient EHRs, as well as its revenue-cycle management system. Implementation is expected to begin in mid-2017.
