ICIT identified the team assembled by Protenus as a valuable asset as the organization continues to expand its expertise in big data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning as it pertains to healthcare cybersecurity. Protenus CEO Robert Lord was recently invited to speak alongside the Nation’s leading cybersecurity thought leaders, including Dr. Ron Ross, Fellow, NIST. These experts were assembled for an ICIT briefing that occurred at the U.S. Senate, “Your Life, Repackaged and Resold: The Deep Web Exploitation of Health Sector Breach Victims.” The report outlines the valuation of health records and predictions on the future of healthcare cyber security. Panelists shared their expertise on the deep web and its actors, discussed the role of cyber threats to health IT from both private and public sector perspectives, and recommended steps hospital leaders can take to keep patient data safe.
