Dec 16 : SourceMedical names new CEO

new ceo

SourceMedical Solutions, one of Birmingham’s largest health IT companies, has named James Coffin as its new CEO.

Coffin comes to SourceMedical from Dell, where he spent six years as the worldwide vice president, general manager and global practice leader of the company’s health care and life sciences division. He pioneered Dell’s efforts to apply leading edge information technology into areas including electronic medical records, data analytics, cloud computing, personalized medicine, claims processing, medical imaging, and pharmaceutical and biotech drug discovery.

“I am honored by the Board’s decision and wish to thank them for extending to me this very exciting opportunity to lead the company and the SourceMedical team to the next level in its evolution,” Coffin said. “SourceMedical continues to be the industry leader in the outpatient surgical and rehabilitation sectors, and I look forward to continuing to serve our customers with the highest quality solutions and services they have come to expect from SourceMedical.”

Coffin will replace Ralph Riccardi, who is leaving to pursue “other opportunities.”

SourceMedical was ranked No. 81 in 2013 and No. 84 in 2014 on Health Care Informatics Top 100.
