telus health

Acquisition will help enhance collaboration between pharmacists, healthcare professionals and citizens across Canada.

TELUS Health, Canada’s largest Electronic Medical Records (EMR) provider and a leader in pharmacy management solutions, today announced the completion of its acquisition of pharmacy management solution provider XD3 Solutions, which currently serves more than 150 Quebec-based pharmacies. The agreement includes the transition of XD3 employees and expertise to TELUS Health, which will allow TELUS to provide customers with consistent service and a seamless transition. The acquisition brings the total number of Canadian pharmacies using TELUS Health pharmacy solutions to 3,000.

“Pharmacists are a critical part of Canada’s healthcare system, acting as frontline resources to provide patients with information and education that drives better health outcomes across the country,” said Paul Lepage, President, TELUS Health. “TELUS’ ability to deliver leading pharmacy services across Canada has been strengthened by our acquisition of XD3 Solutions. The addition of this solution to our product portfolio will allow us to enhance our current service offering while also increasing our ability to support and drive better communication and collaboration between pharmacists, healthcare professionals, insurers and citizens.”

During the past five years, TELUS has invested $20 million in research and development focused on pharmacy management and enhanced collaboration tools and services to support the transformation of healthcare in Canada.
