athenahealth
Boca Raton,

Modernizing Medicine, Inc., creator of the Electronic Medical Assistant® (EMA™), a cloud-based, specialty-specific electronic medical record (EMR) system, announced today that it has been awarded Gold in the Most Innovative Company of the Year Best in Biz Awards 2014.

This year’s Best in Biz Awards’ were the most competitive to date. The reputable program featured a large and distinguished judging panel comprised of members of the media who reviewed and scored the hundreds of award nominations.

Alongside Modernizing Medicine, more than 550 award nominations were received in a variety of company, executive, team and product focused categories. Nominations were fielded from public and private companies of all sizes, from virtually every major industry and region in the U.S. and Canada.

“The quality of the entries in Best in Biz Awards 2014 was exceptionally, delightfully high,” said Dale Dauten, King Features Syndicate, returning to judge his fourth competition. “Even though I spend my days working with and writing about innovative organizations, as I reviewed the materials of the Best in Biz nominees, I realized I was talking to myself, repeatedly saying, ‘Oooh, that’s good!’ and ‘Whoa, now THAT’S clever!’ You can feel the creative energy flowing through these organizations and the joy that goes with it.”

The Best in Biz Awards honors companies, teams, executives and products for their business success as the only independent business awards program judged by members of the press and industry analysts. Modernizing Medicine is one of the recipients inside the award programs “Company Categories” section, which includes eleven different categories comprised of 56 winners among gold, silver and bronze award levels.

“Modernizing Medicine’s focus is centered on taking the most advanced resources to create a technology that will benefit the healthcare process and improve patient care,” says Daniel Cane, CEO and co-founder of Modernizing Medicine. “Not only is being recognized as one of the Most Innovative Companies of the Year by Best in Biz Awards an overwhelming honor, but to also be selected as the Gold winner is truly appreciated.”

All winners of Best in Biz Awards 2014 were determined based on scoring from an independent panel of 53 judges from highly recognized newspapers; business, consumer and technology publications; radio outlets and analyst firms. In addition to the numerous judges returning from previous panels, this year’s 53-person judging panel included several worthy additions to this high-profile group including AdWeek, Computerworld, Boston.com, CRN, Crain’s New York Business, Entrepreneur and eWeek, to name a few.
