eClinicalWorks Enhances AI Integration in EHR and Revenue Cycle Systems

EMR Industry

The company showcased new AI-powered solutions across electronic health records (EHR), revenue cycle automation, and specialty care services.

At its 2025 National Conference in Orlando, eClinicalWorks (eCW) introduced a range of AI tools designed to improve physician workflows, patient interactions, and revenue cycle management.

The company showcased new AI-powered solutions across electronic health records (EHR), revenue cycle automation, and specialty care services.

Girish Navani, eCW’s CEO and co-founder, highlighted the ongoing transformation in clinical workflows, saying, “We are witnessing a dramatic change in the user interface happening right before our eyes.” He pointed out the role of ambient computing in enhancing physician engagement, with smart glasses and exam rooms free of traditional keyboards and monitors enabling doctors to focus on patients while AI captures clinical notes.

During the demonstrations, Navani illustrated how AI-enabled wearable devices can transcribe conversations, access patient records in real-time, and improve time management both inside and outside the clinic. “Smart wearables will serve as powerful tools that enhance care delivery within clinics, save time outside of them, and help physicians stay focused on what matters most,” he explained.

The Healow Genie AI-Powered Contact Center platform was also showcased, demonstrating automation of routine administrative tasks like appointment scheduling, prescription refills, referrals, and payments. In a live demo, Navani showed how the system can convert patient encounters and practice revenue updates into mobile-friendly, interactive podcasts. “If I can do this for the physician, why not for the finance team?” he remarked, emphasizing improved efficiency for administrative workflows.

eCW also highlighted its AI-driven value-based care (VBC) services, aimed at identifying at-risk patients and enabling early intervention in chronic disease management. Revenue cycle improvements included the Autonomous Claims Verification pilot, which reportedly boosted efficiency by 300% in processing paper explanations of benefits (EOBs).

Looking forward, eCW plans to extend its EHR capabilities to inpatient, emergency, and pharmacy settings, with a focus on underserved hospitals. Navani announced, “We expect to launch a new inpatient EHR tailored for critical access and rural health hospitals next year.” Other conference updates featured enhanced interoperability through the CMS Digital Health Tech Ecosystem initiative and an expansion of PRISMANet, eCW’s qualified health information network, now integrated with AI for document summarization and optimized search.

So far, eCW has rolled out 125 AI-driven features across its platform, including tools for transcribed data integration, coding support, and document summarization.
