EMR searching for the holy grail

The EMR, a.k.a. EHR (electronic health record), has a high failure rate. The typical EHR requires significant changes in physician behavior. Multiple practitioners (now six pediatric eye MDs in our group) with multiple office locations coupled with the reality of expanding space requirements for medical charts at Manhattan real estate prices, made the quest for a paperless office a top priority.
