The Internet, social media platforms and mobile health applications are enabling patients to take an active role in their own healthcare like never before. Patients are empowered not only to share their health experiences but also to gather information about their disease and talk to doctors about their health outcomes in a more informed and interactive manner. It is no surprise that hospitals, physicians, government institutions, payers and pharma are finding ways to connect with these digital communities in order to understand and validate the vast health information exchange and ultimately help develop more patient programs that improve medication adherence and increase patient engagement.

Some of the challenges that these multiple stakeholders face when connecting with ePatients include finding suitable communication channels, navigating the data, understanding the regulatory landscape and delivering relevant information for the patient. The ePatient Connections 2014 conference will explore ways to understand and overcome these challenges while bringing together all key players.
TOP FIVE REASONS TO ATTEND

  1. Learn about the evolution of the ePatient and it’s role in generating tailored content applicable in healthcare
  2. Through case studies, learn how pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies have used social media platforms to communicate with online patient communities.
  3. Explore the use of third-party vendors and multichannel engagements to strengthen stakeholder relationships with online patient communities
  4. Learn about how multiple stakeholders (government institutions, physicians, hospitals, payers and pharma) interact with ePatients and the impact this has on health outcomes and patient engagement
  5. Discuss the challenges that industry and ePatients face when trying to understand the regulatory landscape of social media
