About HIMSS Amsterdam 2014

This year, the second annual HIMSS Amsterdam event will be taking place on 6-7 November 2014 at the Hotel Okura. The 2013 conference, presented by HIMSS Europe, was our first event in The Netherlands and brought together nearly 400 healthcare IT leaders from across Europe.

HIMSS Amsterdam 2014 will be addressing key themes which are most relevant for The Netherlands, as one of the frontrunners of ICT use in healthcare. The eHealth conversation is now more significant than ever for the Dutch market as they proudly have 11 HIMSS EMRAM Stage 6 Hospitals in the country.

This year’s highly anticipated topics include:

  • Patient Empowerment: mHealth, Healthcare Portals
  • Medication Safety: Closed Loop Medication in Home Care
  • Patient Safety versus New Privacy Regulations
  • Continuity of Care: Acute, Primary, Nursing and Social Care
HIMSS Holland: HIT UnveiledHIMSS Europe has evaluated the adoption of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in more than 70% of all Dutch acute care hospitals. And the results are surprising. No other country in Europe currently has more hospitals that have achieved such advanced levels of EMR usage. At the same time nearly half of all acute care hospitals do still struggle with electronic clinical documentation, CPOE or full PACS implementations. The HIMSS Amsterdam 2014 conference opens up three key themes critical to the success of healthcare: Adoption, Change Management and Interoperability. It’s a unique opportunity to take global best practice and benchmark it against the state of healthcare in Holland. Leading healthcare organizations will present in what will be the second annual Dutch event where global and regional thought leadership are combined, creating a must not miss conference.
