The case for electronic medical records is compelling:  EMRs can make healthcare run more efficiently and drive down organizational costs; not to mention the government has given $6.5 billion in incentives and hospitals have spent billions more in these systems. But there is one final frontier that remains to be conquered.  How do you communicate and manage information from providers who aren’t a part of your EMR network?

Providers have committed to the promise of becoming paper-free and reaping the cost saving benefits, but paper remains a significant and growing aspect of their workflow, filling in the communication gaps of their current technologies.
“While most providers have installed some kind of electronic record system, two recent studies have found that fewer than half of the nation’s hospitals can transmit a patient care document, while only 14 percent of physicians can exchange patient data with outside hospitals or other providers.” New York Times, September 30, 2014
Join Robb Hutchison, CEO of Proficient Health as he outlines strategies to optimize your organization’s current technologies and complex workflows.
