The Florida-based Dade County Medical Association (DCMA) has selected HealthFusion, Inc., a provider of MediTouch EHR software, as a Vendor of Choice for EHRs for its more than 1,000 physician members.
DCMA is the largest county medical association in Florida, according to a news release on the selection. The organization works on practice management, legislative advocacy, continuing medical education, and more. According to their website, DCMA represents allopathic and osteopathic physicians in every medical specialty. The organization has existed for more than 100 years.
The MediTouch EHR is certified for Meaningful Use and includes tools like warnings and alerts to help decrease medication errors and duplications. The system’s integrated patient portal allows patients access to their medical records and enables them to request medication refills online.
The MediTouch EHR can be customized for multiple specialties, including cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, and more. The system is cloud-based and works with tablets, PCs, and smartphones and is unique because it is the only system to offer full functionality on the Apple iPad, according to the news release.
Dr. Sol Lizerbram, chairman of HealthFusion, notes that MediTouch includes features for managing Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services programs such as Chronic Care Management, Medicare Advantage, Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS), and Meaningful Use.
