Feb 12 : Cloud-Based Curve Dental Has Partnered with DrFirst For E-Prescriptions

cloud-based curve dental

February 11, 2015 — Cloud-based dental software developer Curve Dental has partnered with e-medication management technology provider DrFirst to offer integrated electronic prescribing capabilities for both legend drugs and controlled substances to Curve customers.

The partnership will allow customers to print and send any prescription in accordance with each state’s requirements.

“It was important for Curve Dental to choose a partner that has demonstrated an ability to stay on top of state legislation, as well as provide a sleek, well-designed user interface,” stated Ian Zipursky, president and chief operating officer of Curve, in a press release. “With a few clicks of the mouse, our customers will be able to send prescriptions to any pharmacy in a secure and compliant manner.”

DrFirst’s eRX and EPCS technologies will be available to existing Curve customers for an additional fee. It will also help dentists in New York to comply with the Internet System for Tracking Over-Prescribing Law (I-STOP), which goes into effect March 27, 2015.

“E-medication management is important for dentists, who frequently prescribe pain medications,” said G. Cameron Deemer, president of DrFirst. “Combining Curve Dental’s cloud-based EMR with our e-medication management platform … enables Curve Dental to support providers in other states with the inherent patient safety benefits and workflow efficiencies of e-prescribing.”
