Feb 18 : Black Book Ranks Cerner No. 1 HIE-Centric EHR Provider

cerner wins

Cerner Corp. is once again the top performing enterprise health information exchange (HIE) supplier for inpatient/ambulatory health information technology, according to Black Book Rankings’ 2015 HIE User Survey. This marks the third consecutive year that Cerner has earned the designation.

“Long before interoperability became an industry hot topic, Cerner understood the importance of helping providers connect information across organizational, geographic and technological boundaries,” said Bob Robke, Cerner vice president for interoperability strategies and solutions, and board treasurer for CommonWell Health Alliance. “Our continued high marks from clients in the Black Book HIE user survey demonstrate that Cerner has been able to successfully break through organizational silos to connect information that can benefit providers and patients.”

Cerner was also ranked No. 1 among all HIE suppliers, for: ease of transmittal and exchange; clinical system workflow and productivity; and quality reporting and communications. Among EHR-centric HIE competitors, Cerner was ranked No. 1 in: HIE stakeholder alignment; widespread integration and flexibility; data analytics and business intelligence; and configurations and interfaces.

About Black Book

Black Book Rankings, a division of Black Book Market Research LLC, provides healthcare IT users, media, investors, analysts, quality minded vendors, and prospective software system buyers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and other interested sectors of the clinical technology industry with comprehensive comparison data of the industry’s top respected and competitively performing technology vendors. The largest user opinion poll of its kind in healthcare IT, Black Book™ collects over 400,000 viewpoints on information technology and outsourced services vendor performance annually. For methodology, auditing, resources, comprehensive research and ranking data, see http://www.blackbookrankings.com. In Q2 2014 through Q4 2014, the Black Book Rankings’ Health Information Exchange client/user/prospective customer survey investigated 67 HIE self-stated vendors utilized by 1,813 validated HIE users nationwide for rankings and an additional 2,240 respondents in pre-use, implementation, system decision making or purchased but not yet installed status. Over 4,000 prospective HIE stakeholders participated in ballots that did not evaluate vendor performance.

Additionally, in an adjunct survey, Black Book received completed ballots from 1,290 healthcare payers, insurers, and related organizations on key performance indicators and trend development questions relating to payer involvement in HIE sustainability.
