Iatric Systems and Welch Allyn partnership will automate the capture of medical device data to reduce errors and improve patient safety.

Boxford, Mass. – Iatric Systems, a comprehensive healthcare IT integration company, and Welch Allyn, a leading medical diagnostic device company that delivers pragmatic innovation at the point of care, announced a partnership to offer hospitals an automated solution for sending confirmed vital signs and other data to electronic health records (EHRs).

As part of the partnership, Welch Allyn leverages the Iatric Systems Accelero Connect solution to automate how vital signs are captured and recorded in patients’ electronic charts.

“We constantly strive to address customer needs and find ways to further enhance the delivery of care. Partnering with Iatric Systems will help our customers reach one more of their goals – timely, accurate data in their EHRs,” said Stephen F. Meyer, president and CEO of Welch Allyn. “We chose to partner with Iatric Systems because Accelero Connect has exceptional integration capabilities and is scalable.”

Accelero Connect provides a seamless connection between Welch Allyn devices and a hospital’s EHR so clinicians can collect vital signs data, validate it, and through Accelero Connect, send the confirmed results to any EHR system, regardless of vendor. The solution also supports point-of-care barcode scanning at the Welch Allyn device to confirm positive patient identification in the EHR system. With Accelero Connect, hospitals can expand EHR integration to other device types, such as smart pumps, ventilators, anesthesia machines, and others.

“Welch Allyn has built an outstanding reputation in the healthcare industry for cutting-edge medical device technology and giving frontline caregivers accurate, dependable readings,” said Frank Fortner, president of Iatric Systems. “That reputation and the goal we share – to improve lives – made Welch Allyn an obvious choice as a partner.” Source
