Flatiron Health Unveils New Features to its OncologyCloudTM Software Platform

Flatiron Health today announced new features and enhancements to its OncologyCloud software platform. Currently, the platform is used by over 2,000 clinicians to support the treatment of nearly one million active cancer patients, and helps community oncology practices and cancer centers enhance patient care, optimize workflow and thrive in today’s healthcare environment.

The new features add even deeper analytical and workflow capabilities toOncoAnalytics, the most advanced oncology-specific analytics tool available today, and OncoEMR, the leading cloud-based medical oncology electronic health record (EHR).OncoAnalytics was developed to help providers access deeper business and clinical insights by unlocking EHR, practice management and billing data from multiple systems, and delivering this information via clean, actionable dashboards.

Based on detailed feedback from the Flatiron Provider Network, today the company launched the Billing Insights feature within OncoAnalytics. By linking data from a practice’s EHR and billing systems, Billing Insights enables providers to identify and recover charges for missed or incorrectly billed drugs, and find opportunities to adjust internal workflows to prevent the same mistakes in the future

“As any community oncology practice knows, the billing office is responsible for a multitude of diverse daily tasks,” says Barry Russo, chief executive officer, The Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders. “We are excited to partner with Flatiron Health and serve as one of the first users of the Billing Insights tool in OncoAnalytics. A review of the first 12 months of extracted data helped us recover $400,000 in underbilled and missed drug billing charges, which we may not have otherwise recovered. While we do regular audits, using the tool allowed us to complete this audit in a fraction of the time it would have normally taken.”

Further Enhancements to Maximize Clinical Workflow Efficiency

Flatiron Health is also making continued investments into OncoEMR across infrastructure, interoperability and clinical workflow to ensure it remains the leading cloud-based medical oncology electronic health record.

As part of this year’s announcement with Varian Medical Systems, the company recently demonstrated medical and radiation oncology software interoperability across OncoEMR and Varian’s ARIA Radiation Oncology System at the American Society for Radiation Oncology’s (ASTRO) 57th Annual Meeting. The two software systems will soon be interoperable across patient demographics, structured lab and treatment summary data, documents, CCDA structured data and scheduling.
