zen medical

Jack Hemmert has been hired as the first CIO of Intermedix Corp., which provides sales management and analytics software for health-care providers, corporations and government agencies. Mr. Hemmert, formerly CIO of Verisk Health, reports to CEO Joel Portice.

Mr. Hemmert will work to expand the company’s technology and data analytics initiatives. He will establish IT culture and practices centered around Agile software development, with an emphasis on collaboration with business partners to accelerate growth.

My goal is to continue to further the company’s commitment to innovation and to the expansion of our systems integration and data analytics initiatives,” he said in a statement.

Taking advantage of falling storage costs and greater processing speeds, health-care providers increasingly are analyzing data to improve patient outcomes. Intermedix, which makes a range of applications that help health-care providers accept payments, as well as analytics to determine how to optimize business operations, is beefing up its analytics to improve care delivery.

Mr. Hemmert is experienced in software development, systems integration and analytics. As the CIO of Verisk Analytics Inc.’sVRSK -0.19% health care subsidiary for the past five years, he managed the organization’s global IT infrastructure. Before that, he worked as a software development manager for the Insurance Services Office Inc., another Verisk Analytics subsidiary.
