Health Data Vision’s MRCS 4.25 Release Makes Improvements for its Self-Service Users

Health Data Vision, Inc. (HDVI), a leader in the medical record retrieval and review (MRR) industry, today announced the release of Medical Record Collection System (MRCS) 4.25, which delivers several improvements to health plans who license the platform for self-service or collaborative use. HDVI is showcasing MRCS during Blue Cross Blue Shield Association Summit, May 9-12 in Orlando, Florida.

The market is already witnessing growing demand among medical service providers for Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, as the need for integrated healthcare to streamline services and improve patient care became an $11.4 billion industry at the end of 2015 and is increasing rapidly. Similarly, there is a huge need for enterprise-class, workflow automation on the healthcare-payer side of the business, which communicates with EMRs and assists health plans with Risk Adjustment and Quality/HEDIS® requirements.

“HDVI is driving the next wave of the MRR revolution. HDVI’s MRCS platform offers a rich set of features for data transmission, storage and integrity,” said Gregg Morin, VP of Sales at HDVI. “MRCS enables customers to address these requirements and optionally license the platform for their in-house team to use. Alternatively, they can outsource their projects to HDVI completely, or they can choose to collaborate with our teams and share responsibility.”

Meeting Today’s MRR Requirements

Millions of pages of transmitted protected health information (PHI) records and the requirements of oversight groups, such as Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) and the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), generates an enormous challenge of ensuring secure end-to-end communication from EMR systems to the oversight committees’ audit package submissions. HDVI’s MRCS addresses these challenges with key connectivity, scalability, and security features.

First, our proprietary Secure Virtual Print (SVP) connectivity allows health plans to securely transmit images from their providers’ EMR systems directly into MRCS. MRCS also offers self-service users dynamic scalability by quickly augmenting their in-house resources with our Retrieval or Coding/Abstracting teams, now available in Spanish, should workload balancing become a challenge. Whether a health plan has three thousand or three million members, MRCS allows for fast deployment and easy adoption. Lastly, delivering HIPPA-compliant trust is critical to HDVI. MRCS incorporates security features like project and role-specific permissions, encrypted transmissions and hosting, multi-factor authentication and re-authentication of users every 12 hours, among others.

MRCS 4.25 Upgrades

The 4.25 Release enhances HDVI’s industry-leading software solution with features that automate routine work, eliminate time-wasters and increase efficiency, including:

  • Data uploading is now available to client administrators for self-service, automated use. It can also be used to self-validate data, both structurally and logically, prior to upload. Self-validation and self-uploading reduces data submission time by 2-5 business days, allowing clients more time for chart retrieval and coding/abstracting.
  • Client administrators can now add new users to their account, add and reset passwords, and assign users to projects; making user onboarding self-service and automated.
  • Enhanced Fax Service capabilities allow for improved status messaging when requesting medical records from providers.
  • Client administrators can now upload custom templates for provider outreach communications, which can include their own branding and languages other than English.

“Our customers represent some of the largest, most complex health plans in the U.S. This new release takes additional steps towards allowing our customers the use of our technology to manage their projects in-house, in a smarter and more efficient way,” said Jay Ackerman, CEO of HDVI. “These new features represent the future of our industry – workflow automation on a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) platform – to route and collaborate on work, so critical tasks get done faster. MRCS is unmatched in its ability to provide a comprehensive medical record software solution that is absolutely necessary to run a modern health plan business with the greatest amount of flexibility for self-service, full-service or collaborative workflows.”
