Healthcare Mobile Apps that are Changing the Game

mobile healthcare

Exclusive Article by Dawn Castell at EMRIndustry.com

Healthcare mobile apps and systems offer secure care coordination and interoperability to improve clinical workflow and communication. Health facilities across the world are adopting mobile apps to ease clinical communication between patients and caregivers as well as improve workflow management in hospitals. These apps allow 24/7 control of any condition of a patient and personalization of care per patient. Health mobile apps also provide incentives for adoptions such as management of workflow. Hospitals and other medical facilities now leverage mobile apps as a secure platform for accessing and managing medical data without data security compromise. These are top mobile apps that are shaping the healthcare industry.

Aetna, ITriage

It is a mobile app that allows patients to access information about their health condition and provides guidance for treatment. ITriage provides patients with a map of facilities in their network, help them find the appropriate care provider, and advise them to visit an emergency room for specialist treatment. With ITriage, patients can secure their health information and review their previous claims. Any patient covered by health insurance under Aetna can download ITriage for free.

DSS Inc.

It gives care providers a suite of mobile features to enhance patient safety and care, care coordination, and interoperable workflows to reduce administrative costs. DSS has both administrative and clinical tools ranging from home health mobile to emergency room care management and automatic scheduling and billing systems. The app is also equipped with a mobile scheduling tool that allows veterans to seek medical care using their mobile devices or a PC.

Marbella

Through this app, nurses, care providers, and other caregivers within a health facility can manage patient rounding using their mobile devices. Medical professionals can use it to specify health data collection, including quality and safety audits. It integrates with other health systems to provide real-time tracking and alerts to eliminate manual follow-ups. You can use Marbella in waiting rooms, hospitals, or clinic on any mobile device.

PatientKeeper

PatientKeeper allows caregivers to order medications, radiology, labs, and any other similar service for patients across a health facility. It let providers keep their enterprise data catalog in the CPOE to allow them to rebuild lists for different patients. Caregivers can also categorize medications and procedures as favorite for recurring patients to help save as much time as they can. The app acts as an alternative to phone orders, which may cause inefficiencies, but it allows caregivers to track test results, allergies, patient vitals, and any other related health data.

Spok Mobile

It gives users a unified place to improve clinical communication and coordinate clinical care. The app updates providers with messages from all connected health devices. It let users secure their message members and organize their notes by priority. Other features that Spok mobile app comes with include integration with hospital-wide scheduling and EHR systems and preference for specific care responsibilities and procedures. You can access spok mobile app from any device including watches and smartphones.

PatientTouch

It is an executive and provider-facing mobile app used for integrating clinical communications with enterprise management. The app can help connect various hospital departments with other care continuum parts. Medical professionals use PatientTouch to connect coordinated care, clinical communication, and clinical workflows under an umbrella to streamline operations and enhance care efficiency. It also comes with enterprise software that providers can use to centralize assignments of all groups, roles, and users in a health facility.

Ambulatory EHR

The app allows providers to access web charts and patient records across health facilities on a mobile device. With Ambulatory EHR, caregivers can tap on the records of a patient to order prescriptions, note the progress of their health, schedule procedures and appointments, and view test results. Another feature of the Ambulatory EHR app is a population management tool, which providers can use to identify patients that are at high risk.
