Healthdom Partners with Medfusion for Patient Data Access

medfusion

Healthdom, a SaaS-based personalized preventive healthcare platform, has partnered with Medfusion, a leading provider of patient data connectivity solutions, for patient health record retrieval and aggregation capabilities. Medfusion was chosen because of its impressive network of 700,000+ providers already mapped for data retrieval—with more than 53,000 active connections across 55 major EHR systems.

“Health IT has advanced so quickly that solutions which we couldn’t have even imagined just a few years ago, now exist,” said Healthdom Business Development Director Robert Keehan. “Medfusion APIs are game-changing for us; they create a cross-provider health record for members, and then marry that with DNA, age, gender, medical history and other factors to create a personal health plan that emphasizes preventive screenings. Partnering with Medfusion will help us reach our goal of identifying potential health issues early enough to give members the best possible chance at positive outcomes.”

Healthdom is a mobile- and web-based platform focused on personalized preventive healthcare. The platform reminds members to undergo various preventive medical screenings at the appropriate time. The reminder algorithm is personalized for each user based on factors such as DNA, age, gender, ethnicity and medical history. The platform not only tells members when it is time for a check-up and health screening, but also provides a seamless booking functionality with laboratories and clinics, and includes an option to check insurance eligibility. Healthdom’s solution is designed with the consumer in mind, returning easy-to-understand, user-friendly formatted and gamified data to empower and engage users in managing their own care. Using Medfusion APIs to enable members to quickly import health data enriches the Healthdom data set, allowing it to provide the most complete view possible.

“Seeing companies like Healthdom use our Data Service APIs to drive real improvements in members’ health and care is inspiring,” said Kimberly Labow, Medfusion CEO. “Empowering people to proactively use their health data is the realization of health IT’s promise. We have worked hard to develop easy-to-use, robust and secure APIs that enable partners like Healthdom to connect patient data—regardless of mobile device or operating system.”

Medfusion Data Retrieval APIs connect to more than 55 major EHRs, are FHIR-based, and have rich documentation to speed development time for partners. Leaders from both Medfusion and Healthdom are available for meetings during the HIMSS trade show in Orlando, Fla., Feb 11-15.
