Press Releases

iMDSoft launches MetaVision SafeTrack

iMDsoft launches MetaVision SafeTrack

iMDsoft® announced the release of MetaVision SafeTrack™, its new mobile electronic observation solution. The solution automates Modified Early Warning Scores (MEWS) calculations, nursing assessments and escalations, ensuring timely intervention for patient deterioration.

Electronic observation systems have been proven to reduce length of stay and increase clinical attendance to patients. Additionally, digital recording of early warning scores is faster and more accurate.

Hospitals using MetaVision SafeTrack will enjoy all the advantages of a mobile electronic observation solution. Nurses will no longer manually document vital signs and observations, eliminating the issues associated with paper charting such as illegibility and risk of error. The solution calculates all the NHS early warning scores, supporting different departments. Scores can be adjusted for individual patients as the need arises. The system provides smart alerts and nursing assessments for sepsis, AKI, VTE and more. Our rule-based engine incorporates observations with other information such as lab results as soon as they are available, which helps identify patients at risk for dangerous conditions, independent of the bedside clinician.

Escalation paths help rescue patients from possible deterioration and provide the relevant caregivers with real-time clinical and location information. Doctors, senior nurses, administrators, and outreach teams define which patients and data they need to access. Hospital management can use the system to generate reports needed for studying key performance indicators such as escalations and EWS per department.

MetaVision SafeTrack offers an unparalleled level of flexibility. Hospitals determine which scores, smart alerts and reports are most beneficial for their requirements. Integration with bedside devices in high acuity settings and hospital information systems such as PAS and Electronic Patient Records (EPR) makes this a suitable solution for hospitals looking to complement their existing IT infrastructure with an electronic observation system.

Based on the MetaVision EPR platform, MetaVision SafeTrack is able to expand to meet changing requirements. The solution can grow to include additional functionality such as nursing documentation, doctor documentation and medication management, all the way to a hospital-wide electronic patient record.

“The introduction of MetaVision SafeTrack is the next natural step in our commitment to helping provide better care for critical patients across the hospital,” said Lars-Oluf Nielsen, CEO of iMDsoft. “Our expertise in high acuity environments and data integration has paved the way for this innovative solution.”

MetaVision SafeTrack will be presented at ANZICS in Auckland, New Zealand, 29-31 October; at EHI Live 2015 in Birmingham, the UK, 3-4 November; and at HISI in Dublin, Ireland, 25-26 November.
