Inderpal Kohli Appointed Chief Technology Officer at Healthix

EMR Industry

Before joining Healthix, Kohli served as Chief Information Officer at Englewood Health in New Jersey, overseeing technology strategy and operations for the acute care hospital and a network of close to 100 locations.

Inderpal Kohli has been appointed Chief Technology Officer at Healthix, a public health information exchange headquartered in St. James, New York.

Healthix announced the appointment in a LinkedIn post on October 7.

Kohli previously served as Chief Information Officer at Englewood Health in New Jersey, where he directed technology strategy and operations for the health system’s acute care hospital and nearly 100 locations. During his time there, he led several digital transformation efforts focused on enhancing cybersecurity, upgrading IT infrastructure, and expanding the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system.

At Englewood, he established an enterprise-wide cybersecurity program, implemented a unified communications system using Zoom, and oversaw infrastructure improvements to boost operational resilience. He also broadened Epic’s use with additional modules and introduced a cloud-based PACS solution as part of the health system’s enterprise imaging strategy.

Before joining Englewood in 2022, Kohli held senior leadership positions at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York, serving as Assistant Vice President of Information Technology. He managed a $20 million IT budget and led a team of over 65 staff, aligning technology systems with clinical and research objectives. His notable achievements included creating an enterprise data warehouse, developing a clinical command center, and launching the first FDA-approved Epic-integrated digital pathology solution in the U.S., which reached a 70% digital conversion rate within its first year.

Sharing his vision for the new role, Kohli stated, “I aim to advance the transformation of Healthix, the nation’s leading health data exchange, into a data enablement and intelligence platform by modernizing technology and securely unlocking new opportunities with our unique data assets.”

Kohli has also been an adjunct faculty member at Weill Cornell Medical College, where he mentored graduate students in healthcare informatics and project management.
