(Nasdaq:ATHN), a leading provider of network-enabled services and mobile applications for healthcare providers nationwide. Together, the organizations will work to establish interoperability between Inovalon’s advanced healthcare data aggregation and analytics platform and athenaNet®, athenahealth’s single nationwide network of 80,000 healthcare providers. Inovalon’s analytics leverage more than 11 billion medical events within its Medical Outcomes Research for Efficiency and Effectiveness Registry (MORE2 Registry®). The athenahealth network contains over 81 million patient records and manages over 5 billion annual data transactions.
The partnership automates the transfer of structured and unstructured clinical data on behalf of athenahealth’s participating clients from athenahealth’s EHR service, athenaClinicals®, to Inovalon to support its clients. This connectivity will help to provide Inovalon’s clients with a more accurate, complete, and timely view of patients, eliminate the need for costly and disruptive chart extractions, and foster greater opportunities for collaboration between providers and payers who are responsible for managing the health of populations.
