Inspirata to Launch End-to-End Workflow Solution at USCAP

Inspirata to Launch End-to-End Workflow Solution at USCAP

Pathologists visiting booth 501 at the 2015 USCAP Annual Conference next week will experience how a fully automated pathology workflow can improve efficiencies.

Inspirata, Inc. today announced it will be demonstrating its new end-to-end workflow solution and integrated cockpit for digital pathology during the expo portion of the 2015 USCAP Annual Conference in Boston March 23 – 25.

Inspirata’s solution streamlines and automates the entire pathology workflow and can be easily deployed using the company’s unique “Solution-as-a-Service” delivery model. This model supplies all of the necessary IT infrastructure, integrations, professional services and resources, with flexibility to work with any point solutions an institution may already have in place.

“I believe Inspirata’s unique solution is the answer to evolving the contemporary pathology workflow from a largely analog process to one that is fully automated and digitized,” says Dr. Ulysses Balis, Chair of Inspirata’s Strategic Advisory Board and a Professor of Pathology as well as Director of the Division of Pathology Informatics at the University of Michigan’s Department of Pathology. “It is going to significantly enhance multidisciplinary collaboration both inside and outside the institution.”

A key component of Inspirata’s solution is how it leverages digitization of pathology slides to provide important ancillary benefits such as computational analysis and content-based image retrieval. Inspirata is building an expansive pipeline of algorithms to further assist pathologists.

“We are very excited about our market launch at this year’s USCAP conference,” says Inspirata’s Lead Scientist, Executive VP and Founder Mark Lloyd. “We think the pathologists attending the conference are going to appreciate the fact that our solution addresses the entire pathology workflow with a long-term, department-wide, fully integrated, implemented and resourced solution.

“In the traditional pathology workflow,” continues Lloyd, “information from disparate systems needs to be accessed, and physical paper and glass are pushed from office to office. In contrast, the Inspirata solution gives the pathologist everything he or she needs to render a rapid and accurate diagnosis in one place. This is inclusive of patient priors, EHR and LIS information, as well as image data from sources like grossing, radiology and endoscopy. The Inspirata Case Review of the Future facilitates an improved and more efficient way of working for pathologists. Ultimately, this provides the best path for each patient’s medical journey.”
