iPatientCare EHR Continues to Add More Providers

surescripts

iPatientCare, Inc., a pioneer in mHealth and cloud-based ambulatory EHR, Integrated Practice Management and Patient Engagement Solutions announced its success with ICD-10 migration for existing and new users choosing to switch to iPatientCare from other EHR vendors.

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) sees no further delays in nationwide transition to ICD-10 from ICD-9. ICD-10 will affect diagnosis and inpatient procedure coding for everyone covered by Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA), not just those who submit Medicare or Medicaid claims. The transition addresses the need for new and expanded codes which are not present in the outdated ICD-9 version.

With less than three months to go-live, some offices still lag behind the transition recommended by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in its ICD-10 Timeline for Small-Medium Practices. Switching to an already “ICD-10 Ready” EHR is the most practical and fastest option available to such practices.

“We remain committed to our ICD-10 migration schedule, utilizing the dual-coding feature of iPatientCare until the official cut-off date and utilizing this period to transition over from ICD-9 to ICD-10. Our special Task Force has been guiding our customers through their practice implementation process and enabling their participation in testing cycles with insurance carriers, as they become ready. Our dual coding feature enables our clients to handle day-to-day activities in ICD-9, yet easily conduct carrier tests in ICD-10,” said Udayan Mandavia, President/CEO, iPatientCare.

iPatientCare understands the needs of the providers in terms of the time constraints, and hence, has invested heavily in evolving smart software programs that studies the usage pattern of every single provider in a practice and helps them map existing clinical conditions to the most appropriate ICD-10 code for each patient.

“iPatientCare team is dedicated to make the ICD-9 to ICD-10 transition as seamless as possible and now I feel that I have a huge weight off my shoulders, and we will convert seamlessly by Oct, 1st 2015 in advance of the deadline. I Just gotta love iPatientCare team helping us “mark-off” one thing from our list of “IMPORTANT TO-DO,” said Timothy Wakefield, DC, Diplomat in the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (DACBSP).

“iPatientCare’s rich knowledge base includes the fact that GEMS cross-walk is not meant as the final authority to transition over from ICD-9 to ICD-10, and hence, allows for mapping those ICD-10 codes which have been recommended by CMS. This fact has been one of the critical criteria that iPatientCare has successfully fulfilled to win over providers using EHR other than iPatientCare,” commented Kedar Mehta, CTO, iPatientCare.
