Hard Work and Benefits in Implementing an EHR

NTT DATA, Inc., a leading IT services provider, is pleased to announce that Chadron Community Hospital (Chadron, NE) has successfully attested to Stage 2 of Meaningful Use with NTT DATA’s OptimumTM suite of products. Chadron is one of the first Critical Access Hospitals nationally to have attested to meeting the Stage 2 objectives for Meaningful Use of a certified electronic health record (EHR).

The goal of the government’s incentive program for hospitals under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) is to encourage the implementation and utilization of a certified EHR. Separated into three stages of increasingly stringent objectives, the program offers eligible hospitals financial incentives for implementing an EHR that allows them to meet the objectives. In order to qualify, hospitals must first submit an attestation to being users of an EHR system certified to support the Stage 2 objectives and then provide reporting that confirms their utilization of the EHR system is within the parameters required during the EHR reporting period.

Chadron Community Hospital credits its partnership with NTT DATA as being a key component of their efforts in advancing the use of EHRs in its facility.

“Meeting the Meaningful Use Stage 2 requirements was a very difficult challenge. It took a team of hardworking and dedicated people to accomplish this objective, in an incredibly short amount of time.” said Anna Turman, CIO and COO, Chadron Community Hospital. “MU2 level of communication and data exchange requires interoperability, partnership/teamwork, and a common goal – quality patient care. An EHR partner willing to work alongside us for this journey allows us all to go farther.”

“NTT DATA congratulates the Chadron Community Hospital team on their passion for improving patient care, and dedication to achieving operational excellence.” said Mike Jones, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Healthcare Technologies, NTT DATA, Inc. “Meaningful Use Stage 2 compliance is a very significant accomplishment, and requires healthcare IT leadership with a deep clinical commitment, combined with an efficient electronic medical records system. We are proud to have Chadron Community Hospital as a partner, and look forward to their continued success.”
