New Survey of Amazing Charts Users Reveals Value of Electronic Health Records for Delivering Improved Decision Support.

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. — Amazing Charts.com, LLC, a leading developer of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, today released the results of its first Amazing Charts User Survey, revealing new insights into what 652 physicians value most out of EHR technology and what practices perceive to be their greatest challenges and opportunities over the next five years. The first Amazing Charts User Survey was completed by Amazing Charts users on January 14, 2014.

When asked how EHRs have enabled physicians to improve point-of-care treatment, 468 respondents (72 percent) cited the technology as helping them make more informed healthcare decisions in real time. Specifically, physicians identified the following advantages of implementing the Amazing Charts EHR: “more informed patient discussions;” “improved results and outcomes;” “fewer patient follow-up questions;” and “greater patient satisfaction.”

“It is gratifying to learn that our users are delivering better clinical care to their patients in part due to our EHR technology,” said John Squire, president and COO of Amazing Charts. “Our decision support tools are easily accessible and integrated into the physicians existing workflow, which helps clinicians use them more often. Our partnership with Pri-Med is also enabling Amazing Charts to develop robust, contextual decision support systems for future products.”

Among the biggest challenges that practices anticipate facing in the next five years, 36 percent of respondents cited “financial,” whereas issues with government and regulatory changes accounted for 56 percent of practices surveyed.
