Jul 25 : Career Step’s EHRs Curriculum Earns NHA Approval

ehrs curriculum earns nha approval

Career Step has earned approval on its electronic health records curriculum included in its Medical Administrative Assistant with EHR course from the National Healthcareer Association.

Career Step, an online provider of career-focused education and corporate training, has earned approval on its electronic health records (EHR) curriculum included in its Medical Administrative Assistant with EHR course from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

“The NHA is a leading industry organization that focuses on improving the quality of allied health education,” said Ryan Ewer, Career Step Vice President of Enrollments and Marketing. “Their position in the industry ensures they are in line with the skills and certifications employers are looking for. Earning NHA approval is a testament to the quality of our educational offerings.”

Career Step’s Medical Administrative Assistant with EHR program was released this past November. The program builds on Career Step’s Medical Administrative Assistant program by updating and expanding the training provided on electronic health records. Electronic records are becoming increasingly common in healthcare, increasing the demand for administrative professionals with EHR expertise.

“We added EHR curriculum to our Medical Administrative Assistant program because having this additional expertise helps set our graduates apart in the job market and gives them an edge,” said Jerolyn Robertson, Career Step Vice President of Academics. “Earning this approval from NHA shows that we have developed curriculum that provides useful education and truly prepares students for the workplace.”

Career Step’s Medical Administrative Assistant with EHR program prepares students for the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant and Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist, both of which are available through NHA. The Career Step training can be completed in as little as three months, and upon graduation students will receive vouchers for the NHA exams.

The NHA began in 1989 after the founder noticed a need for healthcare workers. The organization has certified more than 400,000 allied health professionals, and the demand for skilled professionals continues to rise. The NHA works with schools and educators as well as providers and allied health practitioners to help transform the healthcare industry through proper education, training and certification.
