The goal of the interoperability testing is to combine Kyocera’s expertise in hardware development, manufacturing and product fulfillment with Authentidate’s software and command of healthcare business process workflow. With the implementation of Authentidate’s InscrybeMD remote patient monitoring application on the Kyocera Brigadier, a ruggedised, wireless mobile device, healthcare providers are provided with a tool for setting up tailored monitoring sessions of patient health with fewer in-person doctor or emergency-room visits.

In related news, Kyocera Communications announced a nationwide cell-phone ‘Take back’ recycling programme, free to consumers wishing to dispose of unused mobile phones of any brand. The programme is facilitated by SecondWave Recycling, a socially responsible organisation that facilitates free phone recycling to support charities, and for every four phones recycled for their raw materials, a donation of USD 1 will be made to ‘Cell phones for soldiers’, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to providing cost-free communication services to active-duty military members and veterans.
